- HOW GRAY THE SEAIn Poetry·October 24, 2023Gray, how leaden gray the sea, Which, few hours before, Sparkled blue, such bright blue to me, While waiting for the storm to come ashore. Gray, how dirty cotton-gray the sky, Which was a while ago I saw, As blue, or bluer than this sea now nigh, Fore wind attacked with tooth and claw. Gray, how gray and dull has grown my soul, Which once was spangled, red, and gold, and green, 'Til the colors fled, before life's crashing roll, And, having left, nevermore were seen. • Donovan Baldwin001
- HOW DEAR YOU AREIn Poetry·October 24, 2023If I could only tell you, Completely, freely, Bravely, How dear you are. How much you mean to me, Do for me, Matter to me... Each night I tell you, As you sleep, Safe knowing, You will not, Hold me to The truth. Oh, how dear you are. How much I wish to give. How little I have to give. If you felt my thoughts, You would tremble in your bed, And wonder at the drams, Which walked through the room As you slept. If you could hear the words, And understand theif meaning, And know... How dear you are. • Donovan Baldwin000
- RIBBONS, SATIN, LACEIn Poetry·October 24, 2023Sometimes my words are ribbons, Sometimes satin, sometimes lace. - I ACHE TO SPEAKIn Poetry·October 24, 2023Sometimes, I tremble with desire, Which flames and flares within my heart, And, forces me to the edge of those... Places I dare not go... Things I dare not do... Words I dare not say... With relentless power, these desires, Painfully thrust my timid soul, Into a world of truth and trust... Causing me to wish... Asking me to share... Daring me to act... With each new day, stronger comes desire, Moving me forward towards a brink, From which I nust confess, that... I waver in weakness... I crave fulfillment... I ache to speak... • Donovan Baldwin000
