- TILL THEY HURT NO MORE, AND OTHER POEMSIn Poetry·September 29, 2023when touched by others she but knew the pain they brought... his touch brought solace so she turned her scars flaunting them before his eyes... fearing pain's return he bathed them with tears comforted them with kisses... till they hurt no more ----- if i become beast blame it on what beauty does... when she touches me ----- flowers know no fear even beasts may love a rose... taking but memory ----- wisps of fingertips raise sensual sensations... touching but herself ----- I've lived where beasts roam. I'll not attack but shall defend... An evil i embrace. I will bear the scars and weep, So strangers will not have to. #tanka ----- time tears pages out taking with it who i was... or was meant to be ----- we're interwoven time myself and me and i... who was and will be ----- inside my head i wander intropsective halls... seeking dead echoes ----- like loving others what's done alone for pleasure... is just as valid ----- mirrors do not show you only see your beauty... through how you are seen ----- intimate party where lovers dance close and slow... heartbeat to heartbeat ----- tight in my embrace body fitted to my own... curves neatly in place ----- are you just a dream or living breathing woman... warmly delightful ----- the taste of your tongue adventuresome lips gainst mine... as kisses collide ----- his breath filling her thrilling in its raw passage... through hills and valleys ----- loving eyes caress praising both body and soul... adore her beauty ----- sinuous petals folded filagree adorned... round an ardent stem ----- sinuous petals folded filagree adorned... round an ardent stem ----- skips over my words fears i speak too much of love... a different way ----- face poet's challenge raise thy courage dear lady... trust his words one time ----- first she hid her scars i made her show them to me... so i could love them ----- you appear again image never far away... revealed with the dawn here too in the dark not seen but so softly felt... a breath a whisper warm breast upon my own touch of lips a questing tongue... fingers which claim me ----- natural to me this friendly bird sings in the trees... world's finest music ----- to escape our cages each became the other's refuge... being one brought freedom ----- • Donovan Baldwin001

- CANDLELIGHT IS NICE, BUT... AND OTHER POEMSIn Poetry·September 30, 2023candlelight is nice but she craves the roaring flame... the fires of passion ----- can you see the moon same one shining over me... something we can share ----- just above your heart cheek to breast you comfort me... untangle my mind ----- why should she change i loved her when she appeared... she just needs more love ----- i sense your presence in each shadow in each sound... even in silence ----- too calm and peaceful candlelight sweet violins... she sought gypsy fires ----- You lift up your face To capture my rushing stream, The droplets of desire Which run down your cheeks, Into your open mouth, then Following and feeding, The contours of your body, Nourishing the thirsty soul, The bosom you have bared To the precious flow on its way To the center of the blossom, Which, so long dry and sere, Aches to feel the Loving rain which, Will moisten it, Will make it open, Bloom, catch, and hold, The quickly warming waters of Inspiration and desire, As you gasp for breath, Mouth and mind filled With this arousing flood. ----- Shy secret flower Blushing with embarrassment, Blooming with desire, Fearful she'll be discovered, Dew covered petals open. ------ Something special about touching nature, Walking barefoot along the ocean's edge, Or, more daring, naked in the woods, Not too certain that, Mother Nature, In her open display, may be looking back, And too, wondering at your natural beauty. ----- • Donovan Baldwin001
