Stars were not made
For astronomers
But for poets and lovers,
For the scientist can only
Quantify and qualify,
That which already exists,
Both remaining constant,
But, poets and lovers,
Look at stars and see,
So many things which
Might have been and
Might yet be, both,
By this artistic interaction
Altering the other,
And through lover and poet,
This world beneath the stars.
