INTO A DARK ABYSS

I came from a land of light,

Full of promises,

Dreams, fantasies,

Possible realities of

So many kinds.

I strove to learn,

Find paths to follow,

Sought learning, lore,

Adventure and love.

But, one day, tumbled,

Into a dark abyss from which,

There was no escape.

And there remained.
