I tiptoed soft
across the petals
of your heart,
but for you,
it felt like a parade
You heard the symphony of me
like a song beneath your breath,
before the music even played
There was no disguising it,
just unexpected and surprising
You left your heart wide open
letting me dance right in
and then the music played ...

First music soft, nearly naught,
And yet, a rhythm quickly caught
Foot and hand and eye, and I
Caught the loved one passing by
And, together tight embrace,
Breast to breast and face-to-face,
In unison no step amiss,
Dancing slowed, became a kiss,
Then she, and music, left me there,
Fading into empty air.
Though nothing left to hold or see,
But imprint that she left on me.
