Supine on my recliner
in late autumn sunshine
Warmth penetrates my body
Baking sensation so beloved
Soon to disappear
Heading south
Grabbing each moment I can
Hoping to keep hold
To ward off winter’s chill
Bronzed glow rekindled
Renewed if only in
Ever shorter instances
I take what is left
And savor its sweetness
Etching it on my memory
As with a lover’s kiss
The warmth stays well beyond
This actual reality
Very lovely.
