It’s Veteran’s Day
Much is being said
About service and
Sacrifice and America’s dead
Thanks to each who bravely served
For my sense of safety
Which many in the world today
Sadly are not feeling
As wars spread across our globe
Peace seems to be fleeting
War is paid in blood and costs
Terror, pain and lifelong loss
Mine sent young men
To the Army, Navy, Air Force too
Each proudly serving
The white, red and blue
To all who served, fought and died
My gratitude only multiplies
As I experience for myself
How very fragile is peace
