White sand
Glistening in hot sun,
Bright blue sky
O'er jade green sea,
Promises of other lands
And times,
Peoples read about in books,
Tales in a boy's mind,
Fired by Jim Hawkins,
Long John Silver,
And a host of pirates
On a treasure island,
Somewhere over my horizon.
