Two tawny foxes once hunted alone
and sheltered at night in their dark forest home.
Autumn came briskly with colors aflame,
setting the stage for a mating game.
Winter would come - he must find a mate-
make a love den and seal up their fate.
A foxtrot they danced in the blue light of moon,
ahead of the snows that would cover them soon.
Now nestled together in warm coats of fur,
she surrenders to him as he gives unto her.
No more a twosome, their hearts beat as one -
devoted forever -
Forever One
