Peter always wanted to be an animator and produced animation when none of our current structures existed. His knowledge and collection of animation and film memorabilia is legendary.
The obituary in the Ottawa Citizen tells us that “Peter spent his life passionately in the Animation industry leaving behind so many longtime friends, students, colleagues and special people that he mentored and held in his heart throughout his life.”
It was about Peter that I wrote my blog “What do you want to be when you grow up?” When we were in high school together, I encouraged him to do what he really wanted to do, to become an animator and he made film a way of life. He formed an amateur film group while in university, and the 150 people produced animation, live-action, even feature films.
Upon graduation, Peter formed Disada Productions Ltd in 1971, and the company has been a diverse producer ever since. In his memory, a person who followed his aspirations in the arts, we will have a page on ArtsKeeper with many of his blogs, so that everyone can learn more about him, and to realize that one can have a future in the arts.
