A Toast to my Artskeeper Friends
Something different and unexpected happened to me in 2023...
My poem, "A Good Crop," along with my painting of chile picking time
in Las Cruces, New Mexico, was published in the highly respected
Artemis Journal! That accomplishment compels me to submit my
best work to as many literary journals as I can in the new year ahead,
so wish me luck!
Here's my new poem just for you..
We all have special memories of Christmases past Of how we wished the eggnog and cookies would last
Of candlelight, carols and decorated trees
Of children shaking packages down on their knees
And now on New Year's Eve, I'll count my blessings -
Of my family and friends,
Of how I still can write a poem
And even hold my pens
So, let me make a toast to you
both near and far away
for peace and love and laughter
each and every day
Happy New Year, I love you all
